MOUNTAINS TO THE SEA
LUXURY WALK
(Two Nights' Accommodation)
The Charming Creek Walkway
is considered one of the South Island’s
top five day hikes, yet few people get to
enjoy its entire 10.5km length. Our vehicle
shuttle means you can literally walk from
the mountains to the sea, along the storied,
scenic walk, in style. This leisurely, 3-4
hour walk along old railway lines takes
you into dramatic waterfalls and gorges,
and ends at the Tasman Sea.
Day One
Arrive at the Rough and Tumble Bush
Lodge. Soak in our surroundings with a bush
walk, a spot of fishing, or relaxing and
watching the river run by. Hors d'oeuvres,
dinner and supremely comfortable accommodations
await!
Day Two
Have a wonderful relaxed breakfast,
grab your picnic lunch and we'll transport
you to the Mt Glasgow end of the Charming
Creek Walkway. It's a leisurely 3.5 hours
walk alongside Charming Creek and the Ngakawau
River, from a tiny trickle to a dramatic
gorge and the Tasman Sea. Enjoy your picnic,
and take plenty of pictures on the way.
Meet your vehicle at the
ocean end and enjoy a leisurely drive back
to the lodge, exploring our beautiful local
beaches on the way.
Day Three
After a sleep-in and another full cooked
breakfast, depart for your next destination.
