We are on 100 acres of privately owned
native bush, effectively surrounded by conservation
land. While building the lodge, we were
determined to keep the footprint small,
so have cleared just enough bush to provide
ample sunlight (important for the solar
panels!).
Guests may explore our property and connect
to the Mokihinui Gorge Track, on several
bushwalks through a variety of riverside,
creek and mountain podocarp (rimu, kahikatea)
and beech forest. Ranging from 15 minute
walks to hours of exploration, these tracks
all start at the front door.
