After a full day of activity, our full-service  guests kick back and relax while we prepare a sumptuous evening meal. Handcrafted hors d'oeuvres are served at cocktail hour, followed by a lovely, slow-food three course dinner.

Susan, a lifelong cook, is a graduate of the New Zealand School of Food and Wine's foundation course (based on the London Guildhall curriculum), where she refined her technique and picked up some great catering ideas and a Certificate in Wine. Under her direction, chefs Marney Lenahan (2009-2010) and Drew Matheson (2008-2009 and returning for the 2010-2011 season) provide beautiful table d'hote meals.

Due to the diverse nature of our guests, we take care to consult in advance regarding their needs. Special diets are happily catered for, while Susan can suggest wine matches for our menus.

Many exclusive use groups choose to make use of our fully equipped kitchen to plan and prepare their own meals. However, we're happy to work with you to cater a special meal (e.g. a birthday dinner or post-marathon brunch).

Guests have full access to the drinks bar, with freshly ground locally roasted organic Kawatiri coffee, loose teas and teapots, and hot chocolate. Our 'ugly mug' collection (proudly assembled from op shops New Zealand-wide) has become a real talking point!

Because we believe in a great start to the day, our homecooked breakfasts -- served at our guests' leisure -- are delicious and substantial. Guests with us for more than one night are provided a gourmet picnic-style lunch to enjoy during the day.
